Please Explain Colossians 1:27: "Christ in you, the hope of glory"

Col 1:27 ... Christ in you, the hope of glory.

We have here three things to consider. We have here a) People b) with their Possession and c) their Prospect

* The People: "...you..."

The pronoun "you" refers to people who have trusted in Christ for salvation. Paul is specifically referring to non-Jewish people who have trusted in Christ

* Their Possession: "... Christ in you..."

Of all the wealth they could possibly possess as God's children, they have Christ in them! The Jews counted the non-Jews as down and out and spiritually bankrupt. But when they trusted in Christ, they now have Him as their incomparable possession. They are tremendously wealthy!

* Their Prospect: " ... Christ in you, THE HOPE OF GLORY."

The Jews put off the non-Jews as a people without a future, spiritually speaking. But all that changed when they possessed Christ. His glorious future will be their future! They have become co-heirs with Christ. Christ in them is just the installment of what they could have in the future.

The Point---Now that they have Christ, they therefore can anticipate and expect a bright and glorious future.
