Adam means red or ground or red ground. He was taken from the earth. I would not be surprised if Adam was a ruddy (reddish) man. The native Indians in America are ruddy people.
Eve means life. "And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living." Ge 3:20
