Some say that faith is a blind leap in the dark. You don't know what you are leaping into and yet you still take the plunge. This is not Biblical faith at all.
Faith is looking into the clear light of God's Word (His promises, guarantees and assurances) and then walking accordingly. Faith is seeing the evidence (God's Word) and then acting accordingly.
